Though Tesla remains very much a tiny niche electric car maker, its attractive cars are drawing a good amount of interest, if not buyers. So far this year, more than 1,000,000 visitors have made their way into at least one of Tesla’s 14 retail-orientated stores in the US and with the opening of a new store in Portland, this pace should increase.  
 
The electric vehicle maker is positively charged about this increasing interest. Talking about the million visitors, George Blankenship, Tesla Motors’ VP of sales and ownership experience, said, “That’s off the charts, And if you take the stores that were open last week, which would be nine of the new design, you still have over 51,000 people that went through, this past week.”
